FutureGov works with local authorities to make better public services through the use of elegantly designed technology.
We use our expertise in design, technology and change management to work closely with service users and practitioners. We understand their needs and make solutions that solve their biggest challenges.
Many of our 40-strong team started their careers in local government, and in our five years we have worked with a range of councils including unitaries, districts and counties, across the whole of the UK and beyond.
We use our experience of local government to recognise that change can, and must, happen both inside the organisation as well as outside. This is why we work at all levels from community and social innovation outside of government, through to internal organisational change.

The School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) is a global network of learning establishments enabling individuals to realise their potential to create sustainable social enterprises – businesses that address social or environmental concerns.
SSE has operated very successfully around the world since 1997 and arrived in the Midlands in 2013. Our first cohort of 20 students in the Midlands are already making a difference before their first year of trading is complete. Between them they …
- have created 14 new jobs
- are supported by 73 volunteers
- have helped almost 3500 people in need.
In 2015, SSE Midlands will be expanding to create more social entrepreneurs, run more programmes and in doing so create more jobs, volunteering opportunities and address more social and environmental issues in the region.

Class Careers connects young people in schools, sixth forms and colleges to employers such as Sky and Pinsent Masons via award winning online workshops. The online workshops consist of videos recorded in employers’ offices and live one to one chats online. Following each online workshop, each student receives a wealth of resources including a copy of their chat transcript, an opportunity to re-watch the video and further online support – all combining to have a truly transformative impact on young peoples lives.
After speaking with 4 or more employers at school, young people are up to 20% less likely to be NEET, earn 18% more when in full-time work and develop a much higher level of confidence (CIPD, 2013). We aim to deliver this for every child in school and in doing so, transform the way students meet employers, how they receive careers advice and whom they receive it from.

Delivering services differently using a digital wellbeing social ecosystem.
We spent 15 years working with local authorities and other public sector partners to explore, experiment with and embed new solutions to delivering public services in a more efficient and effective way. Our new wellbeing social ecosystem at www.Puffell.com is being used by local authorities, the NHS, Public Health England and others to support citizen, community and population behaviour change around lifestyles, long term health conditions, resilience and support networks. Our team will be able to demonstrate the user experience, showcase the platform’s forthcoming digital innovations, explain how local, regional and national agencies are benefiting and highlight the latest key outcomes data.
The platform is an example of how ICE and our client partners are leading innovation in communications, system redesign and behaviour change through digital engagement.
